Biography

Dario Onfiani is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Engineering “Enzo Ferrari” at the Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia (Italy).

He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. with honors in Mechanical Engineering. In 2026, he earned his Ph.D. in Information and Communication Technologies from the Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia (Italy), focusing on advanced control architectures for physical human-robot interaction in rehabilitative and surgical robotics. During his doctoral studies, he served as a visiting researcher at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics. His research includes physical human-robot interaction, virtual fixtures, admittance and impedance control, and learning by demonstration.
